Toy Library and Family Resource Program
The Family Resource Program is a free drop-in program for pre-school children and their caregivers. It offers a large, shared play space with a variety of toys and books. Parents and caregivers can meet, make friends and attend educational workshops while their children play in a safe environment. Early literacy, enrichment activities and singing are part of every session.
The Toy Library and Family Resource Program runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 am to 12:50 pm, year round.
Sunday Children’s Program
This is a free, drop-in program for children ages 6 to 12, who can participate in crafts, literacy activities, recreational games, cooking and special outings. The program provides a safe and welcoming environment for children and their families.
The Sunday Children’s Program is offered on Sundays from 12:30 to 4:30 pm, year round.
Cecil Youth Drop-In
The Youth Drop-In is an after-school program open to youth, ages 13 to 19. It offers a variety of recreational activities, workshops, and special events in a safe, supervised environment. Teens can drop by after school to participate in sports, do their homework, play ping pong, billiards, or video games, or just hang out with their friends. The Cecil Youth Worker is available to supervise, assist with homework, and give advice.

The Youth Drop-in is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 4 to 6 pm, from September to June, and Monday to Friday, 4 to 6 pm, during July and August. Cecil staff and trained volunteer tutors are available to assist children, ages 6 to 12, with their homework, test preparation and studying.
The Homework Help Program is offered Monday evenings from 6 to 7:30 pm, year round.
This program is designed to successfully ease parents and their pre-school children, ages 3 to 6, into the school system. It introduces children to educational games and songs, as well as provides the opportunity to interact with other children their age. The program aims to prepare participants for the experience of starting school and teaches them to cooperate, share and participate with their peers, all while having fun in a supportive and friendly atmosphere.
The School Readiness Program runs between May and August. The exact dates and times vary from year to year, so contact the Centre for details or registration information.
Children and Women’s Clothing Project
Through the generosity of community members, clean used clothing is available for women and children. The project is open Monday nights from 8 to 9:30 pm, and Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 am to 12:50 pm.
Donations for the clothing project can be dropped off at the Centre at any time. However, we can only accept clean, seasonal clothing of good (wearable) quality. Thank you to our community donors!
